Thank You

On behalf of the AARST Foundation and ALA of the Upper Midwest, thank you to everyone that participated in the bike ride/walk on September 21 and to those that contributed to the foundation during the International Radon Symposium held this week in Springfield, IL.

We still have some tee shirts from the ride available.  If you make a $25.00 donation to the foundation using the Make a Donation button and email info@aarstfoundation.org with your shirt size and address, we will be glad to get one to you.

AARST FOUNDATION Bike for Healthy Lungs FIRST FUND RAISING EVENT!

The AARST Foundation [a 501(c)(3)] officially announces its first Fund Raiser! 
  Bike & Walk for Healthy Lungs
This bike ride & walk takes place in Springfield, Illinois  
September 21st, 2013
The ride is sponsored by AARST Foundation in partnership with American Lung Association of the Upper Midwest (ALAUM)

We are looking for a few GOOD FANS...to PARTICIPATE IN or SPONSOR the BIKE & Walk FOR HEALTHY LUNGS Fundraising Event which promotes RADON AWARENESS and HEALTHY LUNGS.
If you are planning to attend the International Radon Symposium, please also plan to JOIN THE RIDE on Saturday, September 21, 2013, or BE A FAN of the riders and the event by making a financial donation to the fundraiser.  All of the proceeds will be divided between AARST Foundation and American Lung Association - Upper Midwest.
The Ride & Walk is open to the general public, so please forward this information to friends, post about it on your Facebook pages, have your kids post it on their Facebook pages, help us get the word out.

About the Day &

  Bike Trail
The bike trail: Springfield's Sangamon Valley Trail is off Centennial Park.  
Centennial Park and the Trail are at the intersections of Bunker Hill Rd and Lenhart Rd.  There are 3 parking lots surrounding the Ride Headquarters.  The trail is 11 miles.  You can do 5.5 out + 5.5 back, out and back as many times as you want - the days is yours.  Walkers can stride around the park, just by walking you too are supporting and promoting Radon Awareness and Healthy Lungs!
Registration Fee:  
Pre-registration is preferred for both riders and walkersPRE-REGISTER HERE.  If you need a bike we will have a limited supply available to rent, please indicate on your registration form if you need one, and if it is for an Adult or Child, also include your tee shirt size (S,M,L,XL).  Don't forget to bring your helmet!
 Pre-Registration FEE is $75.00 which includes the Ride or Walk, 1 bike rental if you  are riding, 1 tee shirt, and food.  Payable at Check-in (Extra Bikes and Tees needed, will be available for an extra fee and first come first serve) Riders are encouraged to add to their fee with additional donations from friends and families who will support their ride.  These extra donations will be collected upon check-in at the ride as cash, check (payable to the AARST Foundation - tax deductible) or Credit Card. 
Day of Ride & Walk Registration FEE is $35.00 and includes food only and Tee Shirt (Bike Rental is $30.00 both first come first serve)
On-Site Check-In: Riders & Walkers will check in at 8AM and begin their ride as soon as they are set.  There will be beverage and snack stations along the ride, and an after-the-ride ceremony.
ALL Donations to the AARST Foundation are Tax Deductible!

AARST Foundation Receives 501 c3 Status

The AARST Foundation received notification from the IRS on May 29, 2013 that it had been granted
501 c3 which means that contributions to the foundation are tax deductible.

We have now initiated the registration process with the Illinois Attorney General office.

We will soon be in position to start raising funds to start working on our goals of radon risk reduction.
